Were you waiting?

Hey! How are you? How’s everything going with you? Your sketches on Instagram are amazing! Were you waiting for my post or you were also busy?😅. On this 30th it will be a month since my classes and exams got over. There were few things that I wanted to share with you personally in chat or on call hence I had mentioned in my last blogmail that if you get a chance please do text me. But, I feel it’s not possible so I will share it here only now.

After my exams got over, immediately two days later I had gone for a meditation camp. There my cell phone was switch off for complete ten days and we were not allowed to even speak for those ten days. It was an amazing experience. You are not much into spirituality I know, but I will suggest once in lifetime everyone should try that.

I returned on 15th of June to my hometown and then again three days later I left for Pune, as I had to collect few documents from my college and met everyone who was present as I wrapped up everything from Pune at least for time being. If I get future job opportunity I will definitely come there and hopefully we will meet. This world is a small place we will defintely cross paths some day I feel.

I came back last week and things are settling somewhat and hence, here I am with my blogmail. There are many more things I want to tell you, but am keeping them for the next blogmail because I feel if tell someone too many things together the essence of minor details gets lost amidst. I have made a painting today and here it is:

Nostalgic

Did you read my last blogmail? That day as well we posted almost at the same time I guess😅. These are mere coincidences or an indication for something or just God’s way of showing how strong our friendship is! Whatever it is, I am really enjoying this😃. Glad to share such kind of bond with you. Though we don’t meet frequently neither do we text or call each other deep down we do miss the little things about each other and may be that’s why we end up posting on the same day😀.

I always had this fantasy since childhood of making sketches without using an eraser and majority of my sketches are made like that only. I used to use it only if it was very essential. But, after joining class I learnt one important thing, i.e. perfection and for that eraser is required. I was home that day and didn’t have an eraser so made a sketch without using one😅. Your sketch on black paper was beautiful. I liked it. I had made once a fairy kind of thing on black sheet of paper when I was small.

Are you planning something to start of your own? Like you are all of a sudden active on instagram and have made different accounts for different things I believe😅. If you are planning something big, all the best!😊. The different kinds of art that you practice always motivate me. My blogmail would be incomplete if I don’t ask you a question. So, here it goes, how do you manage to have such wonderful backgrounds for all your sketches or arts? Or it is just photography skill that makes a simple table also look so beautiful? Even the backgrounds of your origami art. I really liked them.

Yes, I am feeling nostalgic. It’s been six years in Pune and since childhood coming to Pune was my dream. I am happy that I made such wonderful memories here. In a way, may be it is good that we are not meeting because yes goodbyes are tough. And may be we will meet in future that’s why we are not meeting now. I am busy with my last software, exam and meeting everyone. I am leaving Pune in coming week. There is a news that I want to break, but not here. So, whenever you are free, drop me a text or call me. I want to tell you something.

Just because it was the result day for elections I thought of drawing something related to it. By the way, are you interested in politics? I doubt. Still would like to hear your answer.

The Royal Color

I was going to text you today, since you did not post any blogmail in the last few days😅. And then saw your post. I was happy to see that but the title did disappoint me a bit. But, I can understand that it is hectic for you to go home after office and then again sit and sketch. It is just that these days you have found a new way to engage yourself and it is very easy for you. For writing your book, you don’t need any special arrangements; where ever and whenever you wish you can simply start writing. On the other hand, for sketching you require a proper set up and due to the long break you just don’t feel like doing that.

I feel humans are very lazy (in general). Once they step into their comfort zones, they don’t like to step out of that. This is the reason that they require huge amount of time in reaching the top sometimes or are not even able to reach as they are satisfied with what they have and where they are. Just a thought.

My favourite color is pretty easy to guess; it is purple – the color of royalty😅. Majority of the girls have this as their favourite color. I was earlier unware that purple was a color of royals. Just few years back, I got to know about it.

You remember once I had told that “the thing that one is asked not to do; one does that very first” and I had even narrated my experiences regarding this. Since you are saying that the movie is very heavy and I should not see, I will not watch it now. But, some day I will definitely watch because now I have this curiosity that what is there in it that you are asking me to not watch it😆😆.

Anyway, today I have colored the sketch that I had made in the last week. Have a look:

Colors add life!

As mentioned in the past as well, colors always attract me in art. Paintings have totally a different impact than sketches some times I feel. Though individually both have their own class and standard. Few things look beautiful in sketches only whereas colors add more life to few arts. So, today I tried to make a painting. Here it is.

Actually I was just checking my instagram feed and saw doodlewash prompt. I was not at all planning to make thing this today. But, after seeing the prompt it excited me and I started making this. Also, I thought it is a bit relevant to the current weather. I liked the simplicity as well as the depth of the painting.

I don’t why these days I literally run out of words when am supposed to post a blogmail. My schedule was a bit hectic this week. This can be one of the reasons might be.

You might be already aware thay each color has some specific meaning. I was just reading something todat and came across an article and got to know that majority of people have their favourite color as blue. Did you know about this? What is your favourite color by the way?😅

A long break!

Hola! It’s been a very long break truly😅. And, yes I definitely remember the exponential graph of delaying. It’s a fact and no one can deny that. My health is far better than before, just a bit of weakness. So, I am just not able to sit for a long span of time just like you😛. Secondly, as you had guessed right I had my exams so was a bit busy in that. But, yes from coming month we both will be on track I hope.

I really liked your cute elephant. It looked more cute especially after colouring. You know my love for drawing girls already. These days I am more attracted to painting as compared to sketching. So, I made this painting.

By the way, I thought you liked your work in office. Aren’t you enjoying that? You like being busy with work, isn’t it? Or is it that you are assigned a boring task the one of the kind which always makes you sleepy😂😂.

Anyways, keep enjoying on weekends. I feel, it makes us feel refreshed after the tiring week. So, it’s completely fine, if you don’t post on weekends. But, I will say do sketch in week days not necessary go complete a sketch in single go, simply draw something.

Just a thought

I had read your views on friendship day in the previous blogmail. Even I don’t believe in simply going and tying bands to everyone. But, I used to get special bands for few of my close friends and just normal ones for the rest because I thought it would be rude if they tied and I won’t tie in return.

Try to make more friends. By saying this I don’t mean have hundreds of friend but at least few quality ones. Because if you only have a single one it will become difficult for you to survive in the environment just in case something happens to your friend. If you have at least one more, during such times you can have support and easily move on. Just one of my thoughts. Felt like sharing it with you. Anyways, I am happy you made a new friend in office.

I completed the sketch that you had given. Check it once. I was very scared to draw this one because I didn’t want to hear again that there was some problem in the proportion. I hope this time everything is appropriate.

The task for the coming week for both of us is this. It is not necessary to color it though.

I am back!

Sorry for just disappearing without any clue! Anyways am back again to pester you with my weird things, so chill😛. In the evening again I was not feeling well, I guess going to the class exerted me a bit. I cannot sit for a long time, will start sketching again from tomorrow.

I thought if I will not write a blogmail today you will be pissed again. So, just thought of posting one but without a sketch😅.

I can imagine how restless you were since last 2-3 days, cause you had no idea about my whereabouts. But, want to say just one thing I will never just disappar all of a sudden without any prior information, I mean I will just never suddenly make you friendless and go. Don’t bring such thoughts in your mind again. If ever again I will disappear this way, don’t panic!😅

Anyways, I had a question to ask you are you expecting me to color the sketch that you have given with some specific tool or it is upto me I can choose just anything to color it?

Colourful Art…

Today’s class was pretty interesting. We were taught digital painting. Basically, we were taught nothing great in that; just the different brushes that can be used and a thing which should always be kept into notice while drawing dogital painting that keep opacity and flow below 30 always.

We were asked later to draw a digital painting of landscape. I liked doing that. You are expert in this I know, but you can simply draw a landscape I think. I would really like to see your art in that because in your digital work I have always seen cartoons. So I would like to see this natural beauty of nature. No need to hurry in making this, just whenever you will get time make it. I will be waiting for this one.

After full day working on that, I felt instead of sketching I will do painting. Do you remember the assignment that we were given in which we had to make a drawing and then color it with different styles? Today I finally completed that😅. I have drawn a peacock and then applied the vatious methods of coloring to it. In the first sketch I have just used the primary colors and in the next one i have used secondary colors. The third one is filled with a single color by using its tints and shades. So let me know which one do you like the most amongst the three?

I feel trying something new increases our creativity. I really liked this idea that our teacher suggested in order to study color theory. I told you last time that I am scared to do painting. But now when I am doing it, I am liking it. The words you said the other day were perfect; “Face your fears”. I gave it a try and now I feel I am improving in painting. Also, in turn I have overcome my fear!

Answers to all your questions.

As you know by now, I love elephants. So, addressing the elephant in the room before proceeding with the answers, have you gone ahead of me and decided to sketch every day?! That is really wonderful and I am so happy to see that.

I like things in reverse chronological order, so let’s start with the very first unanswered question of yours.

I had said you have nothing to lose in this friendship cause you have many friends, I have none. Not any I could use an adjective with anyways. So, you can afford to lose a friend but I can’t – so being rude/blunt with you is scary for me, cause if you choose to leave me, I will be all alone, yet again. That’s why I said what I said.

Dip pen does come with different nib sizes, the one I have bought is the most basic one with 5 nibs, more nibs could be bought individually as well. So, yes, the nibs are changeable.

It happens with me very often, sometimes I feel a sketch is very easy, but as I start sketching I am just not able to find the right lines and it ends up looking very ugly. Conversely, there are some sketches which look very difficult but when I start putting down the lines, it comes out really easily.

May it be sketching, painting or inking – I always make an outline or you can say construction line before attempting anything further. So, the sample of the stick figure that you showed is exactly how all of my sketches start. Here are the sample poses I made, there is a pose of a dog as well which I am attempting.

The original art of that incomplete art was not in stippling, it was with proper lines, I modified it to be a stippled one. I had made the line art long back, here it is.

Not a question, but just want to mention – I believe we feel sketches are easier cause we make them very often, we don’t use colors that much which is the only reason they appear to be a bit difficult to us.

The idea of painting the same type of drawing in four different types seems very amusing. Especially the different methods of coloring that your teacher suggested – I will try to attempt it soon. I had learned about color from here. That person also has mentioned something like what your teacher said.

Creativity!

I had found this image many days back and wanted to draw it since then, but used to postpone it thinking it will take very much time and I will draw it on some weekend. Finally, today the day arrived and I thought of sketching it. I liked the creativity in this picture, hence wanted to draw it. I really liked the way in which the fish is given shading. I like more to sketch such creative and unique things. So, here is the sketch.

What I was thinking of was eventually taught today in the class. Our teacher actually showed us how to paint. Since I am unaware of your knowledge regarding painting and your views on it, I will just share all that we were taught with you. The first thing that I learned today was that wet with water the portion that you want to paint and then take as little color as possible in the brush. Second thing whenever you want to do shading in your drawing, color the border first and take more color over there. Then simply take water and drag the color from the border to the middle. This is how a painting is done!

Water plays a significant role in painting. Everything depends on how you use it effectively in the entire painting. You can share your views regarding this. I will get to learn more😅
